Hi dumtratt,
Thanks for pointing this issue out in detail.
We have already taken steps to ensure that all Max2Play users will continue to be able to use Spotify fully and in the way they are used to.
The new LMS Spotify plugin „Spotty“ by mherger of the slimdevices forums has been successfully tested and circumvents the issues caused by Spotify pulling their support. You can install the plugin easily in the LMS web interface under Settings -> Plugins -> at the bottom of the page you can add new repositories. Add this one which includes mherger’s Spotty: http://www.herger.net/slim-plugins/test.xml
For detailed info on the plugin and what to mind when installing it, head to his introduction thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107418-The-Spotty-Spotify-implementationThe other solution is one we developed ourselves based on the Spotify Connect system. Here is the plugin page on our website where you can find more infos and the install link for the Max2Play Plugin: https://www.max2play.com/en/portfolio/plugin-spotify-connect-2/
(I hope it’s okay that I edited your topic to reassure our users, if not let me know and I’ll remove it)

Thanks for the quick follow-up and for sharing the solution in detail!

Heiner12. Juli 2017 at 20:37 #29898Unfortunately, the Bluetooth plugin’s LMS integration only works with the installed LMS on the same Pi.
12. Juli 2017 at 20:34 #29896Hi bumpy,
If you still have unanswered questions or unaddressed concerns, please voice them here. I’d be happy to help.
Regarding your setup, you have several critical issues that cannot be solved by a software adjustment.
As mentioned before:
The Squeezebox Server is an open-source software whose active development in the slimdevices forums benefits our OS and every user of Max2Play. If you have specific questions on the technology behind the Logitech Media Server, please consult these forums: forums.slimdevices.com/You can also look at these tips to optimize your sd card speed: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=144493
Nonetheless, a search task is most likely never split between cores and your list of 100.000 songs might be the critical mass for the Pi. You can consult the slimdevices forums on devices with more powerful single cores.
12. Juli 2017 at 20:25 #29894Hi jim,
Sorry about the inconvenience. Do you have Squeezelite running, and if so, what output do you have selected. With shairtunes2, the Squeezelite players act as the AirPlayers as well. Also please check on the hint that isolli gave above.
10. Juli 2017 at 18:04 #29882Hi Tim,
Yes, it is. But you can also just use the DLNA protocol that comes preinstalled as a plugin of the LMS and turns all your Squeezelite players into DLNA players as well. Thus, you can use apps like BubbleUPNP and other DLNA ones to directly stream music from your smartphone to the Squeezelite players in your house.
10. Juli 2017 at 17:58 #29880Hi Lowrider,
Thanks for the detailed shared solution and feedback! We appreciate the follow-up very much.
10. Juli 2017 at 17:56 #29878Are there other parameters in your command line options?
10. Juli 2017 at 17:55 #29877Hi bumpy,
No problem, I’ll take it out of the header. It was just meant to indicate that this topic’s subject has been thoroughly discussed and the ways in which to solve it were laid out in detail. If you still have a specific question or feedback, please let me know.
10. Juli 2017 at 17:52 #29876Hi tom,
Sorry about the late response. Your installation was faulty, I would recommend you try using a fresh image. You can make a back-up of your current one in case it is not the source of the error. As mentioned, this plugin is still in its beta phase. Please try again if it does not work the first time.
10. Juli 2017 at 17:48 #29875Hi Raymond,
We do not recommend updating out of the Max2Play web interface. However, we also have no experience with our OS on this device, so we cannot tell you what exactly this would cause.
10. Juli 2017 at 17:46 #29874Hi Maximilian,
10. Juli 2017 at 17:44 #29873Hi Arjan,
As mentioned before, it is difficult to isolate the specific error that causes your connectivity issue.
However, I would recommend you try using a fresh image, update to the newest version and install the BT plugin anew to see whether this creates the same issue.
10. Juli 2017 at 17:41 #29872Hi Hans,
No, there is no such guidelines in place as it is not the intended application of the hardware and more of a DIY solution.
However, you can ask HiFiBerry about this question as well. They have also had a few discussions on similar topics:

10. Juli 2017 at 17:25 #29869Thank you for the quick response and feedback on the solution!
6. Juli 2017 at 14:35 #29842Hi bfddld,
First of all, thanks for sharing your process and your solution in detail!
I was just about to answer your first post, but its great you got it working yourself. I still wanted to mention that the Plugin Builder is a great option to create solutions for something like this. If you are interested/open to checking this out, you could just share the .tar-file of the plugin with anyone who wants to have the same solution. Here are some more infos: https://www.max2play.com/en/developers-corner/
Nonetheless, great job! We will look into it in more detail as well.
6. Juli 2017 at 14:30 #29841Hi Neil,
Thanks for the heads up on the English link. It should work, now.
Regarding the display, please make sure that the pins are connected in this way if your Sabre is the third edition: https://www.max2play.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/audiophonics-isabre-v3-display-connection-gen3.jpg
Please also share a screenshot of the error message you receive, so we can try to recreate the issue.
6. Juli 2017 at 14:22 #29840Hi tung,
That is very odd. Your image might be faulty. Please try burning a fresh default Max2Play image, preferably with this imager: http://com.odroid.com/sigong/blog/blog_list.php?bid=144
6. Juli 2017 at 14:20 #29839Hi isolli,
Please head to the Squeezebox Server web interface, click on the „Settings“ in the bottom right corner, go to the „Plugins“ section and deactivate shairtunes while leaving shairtunes2 active. The latter is the better, more efficient and up-to-date solution.
6. Juli 2017 at 13:07 #29837Hi Hans,
Here are a few user discussions that might help you:
https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/mono-output-with-squeezelite-and-iqaudio-pi-digiamp/#post-24360
https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/mono-output/Generally, we recommend using two separate setups rather than splitting an Amp HAT.
Nonetheless, good luck with your project and please share pics of it if you can 🙂6. Juli 2017 at 12:46 #29836Hi Neil,
Just to be sure, please have a look at our detailed assembly instructions for the bundle: https://www.max2play.com/en/gehaeuse-fuer-oled-display-mit-audiophonics-raspdac/
Also, to be sure your image is correctly burnt, please try this burner if you are still stuck in the web interface: http://com.odroid.com/sigong/blog/blog_list.php?bid=144
Furthermore, please check that your license is active in the Settings/Reboot menu. There, you can also check the load of your SD card and whether there is sufficient space in the debug info window.
5. Juli 2017 at 15:59 #29832Hi Jono,
If you use the LMS solution, that should be fine. But if you use pulse, you need to use the „pulse“ output in Squeezelite. Check my video for more details:
5. Juli 2017 at 15:38 #29831Hi awex,
There definitely are several. Firstly, the Squeezelite under Max2Play is also DLNA compatible. Thus you can find it and play to it with apps like bubbleUPNP or with any software that supports DLNA. Secondly, there’s shairtunes2 which makes your Squeezelites also AirPlay compatible and show up as AirPlay devices as well.
Thirdly, there is our Bluetooth plugin and its implementation in the LMS. For more info on that, check our BT plugin and its discussion here:

M2P does not automatically create static IP’s its only an option for a LAN connected device to have one.
To access the web interface, either enter “max2play/” or the IP without the port (:9000) in your browser. So just “192.168.1.8/”
Please make sure you do this on another device like a smartphone or PC’s browser and make sure it is connected to the same local network.

5. Juli 2017 at 15:24 #29828Hi Edward,
Please make sure these files and their folders do not have any special rights or restrictions on them. The LMS will have problems with such special meta data.
Please also try adding the parameter
-e alac
to your Squeezelite command line options. You can also try playing some example files to make sure the issue is not directly ALAC-related (which it should not be, it is supported).
5. Juli 2017 at 15:04 #29825Hi Dieter,
Please check in the Audio Player menu, whether Squeezelite’s output option is correct (should include „hifiberry“ in the name).
The Raspberry Settings/Einstellungen are a premium feature. However, they are not necessary to set up a HiFiBerry card. That should work with just the HiFiBerry plugin selection of your sound card and the correct settings in the Audio Player menu.
5. Juli 2017 at 15:01 #29824Hi Richard,
Sorry about the late response and thanks for sharing your solution as well as your progress!
