The new Raspberry Pi Display is a very interesting new hardware. Once we get our hands on one, we will decide how to implement it in Max2Play. Thanks for your input, we will keep your ideas in mind. Stay tuned on our blog and facebook page for coming news.

The log does not indicate anything going wrong. Your system seems to be running perfectly. We can only recommend using the newest edition of Raspberry Pi, Model 2B, if you do not already. Otherwise there is nothing else to fix.

    Hello gianpaolo,
You can check if shairtunes was installed correctly by looking in the list of plugins on the Squeezebox Server’s Interface. If it is listed there with a tick, it was installed. Please make sure you removed the tick for autostart for Shairport in the Audio Player tab, otherwise Shairport will interfere with your playback and can cause problems. If you use shairtunes, all instances of Shairport need to be off. Also make sure you reboot the system after installing shairtunes or saving the option to turn off Shairport and its autostart. Then, your setup should work.

    Hi scyto,
Unfortunately, that is not possible with the AirPlay technology. You can, however, sync the playback from your Squeezebox Server.

    Kind regards,

Usually, the Pi can manage multiple players in our setups with any problems. Did you maybe forget to expand the filesystem before installing LMS? Than you would have over 80 percent of your memory used which is displayed in the debug info on Settings/Reboot. This could also be a problem factor.

    Hi hanszorn,
This problem can have many different sources. It can be because of your WiFi signal, your power supply, your music files. Please try to eliminate the sources of error first, by changing location of the Pi’s, trying a different power supply and using different, lower quality music.
Also, if you do not already, please try and run LMS on one of the Max2Play devices.

Unfortunately, I looked into it and the plugin does not support any NAS natively. So you would have to adjust the ARM binaries yourself, which we did as a major bulk of our work to function with the Raspberry and Odroid. The code is in our images, if you want to try yourself, but we cannot offer help for individual outside hardware. If you want to use shairtunes without a lot of work, I recommend using it from our Image’s LMS.

    Hi schferenc,
Please try using cifs instead of nfs.

    7. September 2015 at 14:01 #15635

No problem, after all you can always burn the image anew in just a few minutes. If you encounter any other problems, feel free to post in the forums again.

    Hi Peter,
Please make a tick on the option „Standalone“ in the Accesspoint Setup tab. That might solve your problem.

    7. September 2015 at 13:40 #15633

    Hi Mrpink,
Please try using the option „HiFiBerry DAC+“ in Raspberry Settings. Since your sound card uses the same drivers as HiFiBerry, that could do the trick.

    Hi kLude,
First you need to tell us how you try to reach it and how you installed it. I assume you used version 7.8 or 7.9 nightly? Then you should be able to open its interface with the link „Open Squeezebox Server Webadministration“ in the tab „Squeezebox Server“ on your web interface. You should also be able to access it by typing „[max2play’s ip address]:9000“ in the url bar.

The easy integration of the plugin is only for Max2Play’s LMS. The plugin should be compatible with your LMS as well. Here you can find installation instructions: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?103783-Announce-ShairTunes2-plugin-Airtunes-on-your-LMS

Yes, the Lubuntu system should not be updated manually by the user since there can be kernel updates or other changes that might influence the system. We will try to bring out Max2Play updates to accommodate the Lubuntu changes.

The Shairtunes 2 Plugin can be installed in the web interface page „Squeezebox Server under „plugins“. Regarding your connection problems, the source can be the WiFi sticks‘ performance or music files with very high quality that the Raspberry Pi has problems playing. Please try to find out if any of these cause your problems.

    1. September 2015 at 14:52 #15533

Please try the Option „USB Soundcards“ in the Raspberry Settings and reboot.

    Hi Batman,

    Hi janssen,
Since you try to upgrade to Isengard, I suppose you have a U3 as your Max2Play device since that is they only device currently supporting the update. What you can try to fix it is upgrade to the current beta and then click the normal update to return to the current version. If that does not help, please burn the image anew.

    Hi seen,
Since the Wolfson Card is natively supported by Max2Play, you should incorporate it first by selecting it. Once that is done, you can find the appropriate dirvers for your screen and install them to see if they will work together.

    Hi schmello,

    Hello Patrick,
Unfortunately, there is no plugin for Odroid Show available to implement into Max2Play, yet. But we will keep an eye on this interesting periphery and inform you when we get to it. Concerning the language, we prefer the forum to be English only, so that everybody can read the posts and benefit from all questions and correspondence.

    Sincerely
    Heiner from Max2Play

Yes, the MPD Player comes preinstalled on the HiFiBerry Max2Play image and as you could see in the video, its very easy to feed the player with music and the interface has a simple and clear design.

    Hello soko,
The playback interface varies, based on what player software you choose. To get a look at the starter versions player, the MPD, I would recommend checking out the youtube video on the player and of course trying out the software yourself. Here are a few links:

    Hello Mike,
Unfortunately, Max2Play does not support Bluetooth at the moment. The support would be a major update with lots of work behind it, but we will keep you updated if it comes up in the future.
However, you can make the same application work on Max2Play via WiFi using the built-in DLNA- and uPnP-support of the Squeezebox Server. The plugin comes preinstalled and the streaming should also work with your Android tablet.

    Hello Patrick,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will investigate the problem and try to fix it.

    Hello Rob,
I just tested an installation from 7.8 to 7.9 nightly without a problem. Please make sure to first stop the server before installing a new version and that the installation path is displayed in the line underneath. What does the yellow text in your installation of 7.9 say?

    Hallo,

    Hello Don,
The idle time is pre-defined at 180 seconds. If you want to change this parameter, you need to go into the console and type in the following: nano /etc/default/hd-idle, there you can change the time in the following line: HD_IDLE_OPTS=“-i 180 -l /var/log/hd-idle.log“

    Hello Jared,

Your issues are probably caused by a not-expanded filesystem. The first step after you have burned your image and booted the device for the first time should be to expand your filesystem. Max2Play has an easy button for this task in the „Seetings/Reboot“ tab on your web interface. Just click and reboot as your first action on Max2Play, then you will be able to access all the memory on your SD card.

    Hello Brad,

In your case, the internet connection seems to be the problem. At the start of the Squeezebox Server, it is probably not yet active. This can be due to a bad WiFi connection or an older router (DHCP address distribution too slow). To solve this issue, you can go to the Raspberry’s console and add to the file /etc/rc.local the command „sleep 30;/etc/init.d/logitechmediaserver restart;“ in front of „exit 0“. This way, the server is restarted automatically 30 seconds after booting, to ensure that its accessing the network.
