Hi,
Thanks for this- it has helped a bit.I did a clean install
I followed the instructions and now have the device connected to a LAN and can connect to
it via airplay, but there is no output.I can’t now access the web interface- it is no longer recognised on the network so I can’t
affect the volume. All I want is airplayThe first time round I got some sound out, so unless theres been a fault, the hardware
hasn’t changed (2 4OHm 5W speakers correctly wired).Your further help would be appreciated

Sorry about the hassle. Please deactivate the Access Point Autostart manually in the WiFi/LAN menu.
Please also check your advanced options of the Shairport player. The sound card selection should be according to your preferred output.

Erstmal Glückwunsch zur erfolgreichen Erweiterung deines Max2Play Setups, falls du Lust hast würden wir dir gerne helfen ein Max2Play-Plugin aus deiner bisherigen Implementation zu machen. 😉
Back-Up Images kannst du übrigens auch mit einem USB-Cardreader am Pi machen.
Mit dem Betreiben von Max2Play über eine SSD haben wir leider bisher noch keine Erfahrungen machen können, würden uns aber über jeden Bericht freuen.

Erstmal danke für den detailierten Bericht und entschuldige die späte Rückmeldung.
Wir konnten einen Bug im Installationsskript ausfindig machen und haben diesen in der aktuellen Beta schon gefixt.
Um deine Version auch zu fixen musst du einmal ein Beta-Update machen und dann HomeBridge neu installieren.

When you first boot our default RPi image, you should automatically be able to select „Allo“ and „BOSS“ for your setup as the first steps, afterwards the players run automatically from the next reboot.
@meda: Sorry about the confusion, the BT plugin cannot keep a BT speaker active by default. You either need to keep playing something or turn in on manually again. However, when on it automatically recognizes the M2P device again. The BT connection can generally be unstable with the built-in module from Raspberry Pi. We had some customers whose playback always dropped out after ca. 3 hours. However, these issues can also be connected to different factors. We were able to recreate the issue with here after 3 hours of playback with the built-in while a BT dongle managed to play without interruption for well over 3 hours.

Das Runterfahren von Max2Play kannst du am einfachsten mit einem HTTP-Befehl automatisieren. Einfach als Link oder in der URL Zeile manuell

Danke für den ausführlichen Bericht, wir werden dies beizeiten auch noch versuchen zu reproduzieren.
Ich habe unseren DAC+ light Tester (RPi 3, M2P 2.44, Internetradio via externem LMS) gestern einem Langzeittest unterzogen. Leider konnte ich keine Unterbrechungen und andere Störungen feststellen und hatte dann nach ca. 4 Stunden abgebrochen.

First of all, sorry about the frustrating experience and the late response. Unfortunately, we need to keep the options open for the different audio players and need make sure they can be used on each.
I was now able to test the setup and could use the EQ in Squeezelite with an AMP2, so to make sure the issue is not related to a different config in your system, please try using a fresh image to test Squeezelite with EQ. (You can back up your current image easily with the Image Burner plugin, in case you do not have a second SD card)

The Access Mode automatically starts after no ethernet or WPS connection could established in the first 30 seconds after boot.
The browser should not be necessary as the web interface is intended to be accessed via smartphone, tablet, PC, etc.

First of all sorry about the late response. As mentioned in my sticky post, I was out of office between the holidays. Also, pushing a topic up in the chronology does not help as I respond the oldest requests first 😉
@medapayne: The Bluetooth issue is related to the Pi3’s built-in BT module which shares its antenna with the WiFi. We have been able to test our BT playback successfully for well over 3 hours with a bluetooth dongle. However, the built-in should still work for up to 3 hours without complications, currently. Could detail your steps thus far, so I can evaluate if this is really the issue? Also, do you use WiFi?

Generally, I would advise you to remain with our current build and check out the update only if you have a back-up or want to test something. However, usually Squeezebox Server Updates do not break any features of Max2Play.

With M2P’s BT plugin, pairing is initiated in Max2Play’s web interface. In BT menu, you should see the device after making a first scan. Then, as mentioned before, you need to click „Connect“ which should prompt the pairing process.

Firstly, you have to go with a high quality, high speed SD card (Class 10 would be minimum). We have not tested this setup, specifically the library on the SD and a such a big one, so we cannot guarantee anything. However, we would be interested to know how it works out if you do try it. But we would recommend using a 8-16 GB with LMS first to see whether you are content with its performance.

With your AMP2 bundle, please make sure to select the AMP2 in the HiFiBerry plugin and immediately reboot with the link provided in the yellow text after saving your selection. Afterwards, you should see the output device „sysdefault_snd_rpi_hifiberry_dacplus…“ selected in the Soundcard option of the advanced options of Squeezelite.
With the Pi3 without sound card, make sure that the out device „sysdefault_bcm…“ is selected in the advanced options.

Vielen Dank an std fürs Einspriegen. Wie in meinem Sticky Post erwähnt bin ich bis zum 2. nur ganz wenig verfügbar. Ich hab mir jetzt aber mal die Zeit genommen hier nochmal ausführlich zu antworten. Dahingehend auch Danke an fr3sh für die Mail.
– Der Squeezebox Server funktioniert mit HTTP-Befehlen im Heimnetz. Ein paar davon findest du bereits vorkonfiguriert im beta Plugin „Voice Control“.
– Das DAC Case kann in der Tat sowohl DAC HAT als auch Amp behausen. Nicht jedoch Amp HAT („Hardware Attached on Top“ Standard für Geräte auf dem RPi über die Pin-Leiste verbunden) und DAC HAT gleichzeitig. JustBoom bietet sowohl einen Amp als auch einen Amp HAT an, Amp kann alleine oder direkt auf einem DAC HAT verwendet werden, nicht aber direkt auf einem Raspberry Pi. Dafür gibt es den Amp HAT. Im dritten Bild in unserem Shop solltest du zudem die Klemmen des JustBoom Amp’s auf dem DAC HAT sehen können.
– Bei der letzten Frage würde ich dich entweder an ein Forum zu Raspberry Pi Soundkarten (in deinem Fall ggf. das JustBoom Forum) oder an das HiFi-Forum weiterleiten, da ich in diesem Feld leider kein Experte bin. Gerne helfe ich aber bei weiteren Fragen zu Max2Play und unserer Soundkartenimplementation weiter 😉

Also der Amp+ sollte definitiv mit dem RPi3 laufen. Wir haben dies bereits mehrmals erfolgreich testen können. (AMP2 ist natürlich auch kompatibel Max2Play)
Was mir mehr Sorgen bereitet, ist dass die Deaktivierung des eingebauten Audios nicht funktioniert. Auch das ändern von Grafikkarteneinstellungen sollte eigentlich nicht möglich oder notwendig sein.
Falls noch nicht geschehen, versuche bitte einmal die Auswahl „none“ als Soundkarte, Reboot, erneute Auswahl Amp+ und Reboot.

Entschuldige die Verwirrung, wir wollen dir natürlich weiterhin helfen, können nur halt leider dein Setup nicht direkt nachvollziehen, da wir diese Karte nicht haben. Dein Problem ist ja leider relativ offen für verschiedene mögliche Lösungen. Wir werden mal versuchen, den HiFiBerry DAC+ light für 3 Stunden wiederzugeben im neuen Jahr (hoffentlich schon in der ersten Woche) um zu sehen ob Probleme dabei auftreten würden.

Not sure I understand your problem exactly. Which power button are you referring to and what would its preferred behaviour, other than shutting down the device? In any case, you can make sure that volume hardware control enabled if your sound card supports it.

Bei deinen Kommandozeilenoptionen sollte ein Wert nicht auflösbar sein. Bitte entferne einmal alle Einträge in diesem.
Mit dem Debug Mode in Settings/Reboot aktiviert solltest du zudem weitere Log-Infos erhalten zum Player.

As mentioned, the card should be Class 10 speed or higher. There should be a symbol on the card that indicates the speed class: https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/speed_class/
With power supply, it really depends on the setup. We generally send 2,5A power supplies for most bundles (excluding Amps), so 2,A 5V by which the 2,5A is the important factor. But obviously any and all periphery that drains power can be problematic, so all USB without its own PS.

It seems the screen is impeding on the WiFi signal. You could either try using a WiFi dongle or check another power supply, to make sure your problem is caused by either.

Ich habe es jetzt nochmal ausgiebig getestet. Es funktioniert, aber nur ohne hardware volume control. Also grundsätzlich abzuraten.

– Auswahl „plugequal“

I am sorry you had such a bad experience. Please consider checking your SD card (should be at least Class 10 or higher) and your power supply (the rainbow square indicates insufficient power; UNDER-VOLTAGE WARNING) most of all. 2,5A should be the minimum for RPi 2 or 3.
