    It worked I used raspi-config

    Under user pi.

    Advanced Options

Then the top one „Expand Filesystem“ and it just did it right away and said to reboot and I did and now it shows this:

    root@music:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/root 1.8T 2.8G 1.8T 1% /
    devtmpfs 3.7G 0 3.7G 0% /dev
    tmpfs 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /dev/shm
    tmpfs 3.9G 9.5M 3.9G 1% /run
    tmpfs 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock
    tmpfs 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
    /dev/sda1 253M 54M 199M 22% /boot
    tmpfs 783M 0 783M 0% /run/user/0
    root@music:~#

    Only 1% used now.

Not sure how it did it but worked.

Don’t know why the built in one to Max2play did not work.

Burn the m2p_buster_rpi-v253.img.zip with Raspberry Pi Imager.

    Says 93% used:

    /dev/root 3.1G 2.7G 217M 93% /

    fdisk -l /dev/sda shows this:

    Disk /dev/sda: 1.8 TiB, 2000398934016 bytes, 3907029168 sectors
    Disk model: 2115
    Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
    Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
    I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
    Disklabel type: dos
    Disk identifier: 0x0634f60c

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
    /dev/sda1 8192 532480 524289 256M c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
    /dev/sda2 540672 7000000 6459329 3.1G 83 Linux

Went to resize it right in max2play but it says this:

    Resize Filesystem: sda2
No Resize possible – no valid partition found to expand. Contact Max2Play-Support to add support for further file-systems.
Make sure to disconnect all USB-drives and Memory-Cards and do a reboot before expanding the filesystem!

Any other way to get this to use all the 2TB space?

I had my other player turn off and then turn it on and install macchanger.

But it still mixes it up with „max2play-Justboom“ and „Groundedmusic“ what I named them.

Can start to play music on „Groundedmusic“ then it will stop because looks like it switched between them.

Looking at the mac I did this command on both.

    root@max2play-Justboom:~# macchanger -s eth0
Current MAC: b8:27:eb:09:fb:06 (Raspberry Pi Foundation)
Permanent MAC: b8:27:eb:09:fb:06 (Raspberry Pi Foundation)
    root@max2play-Justboom:~#

    root@Groundedmusic:~# macchanger -s eth0
    Current MAC: c2:45:80:ad:4c:47 (unknown)
    Permanent MAC: 00:00:00:00:00:00 (XEROX CORPORATION)
    root@Groundedmusic:~#

So I guess because the Groudedmusic don’t have a Permanent MAC it mixes it up is that right? Can you program it so it looks at the Current MAC address the one you can change? I guess that would fix it.

I think I fixed it by doing this command:

    apt install macchanger

As it installs a menu comes up and I picked Yes. Then press Enter.

Now it seems like it don’t mix them up now.

    I posted this again here.

Another YouTube video that shows it changing the names. The only way to fix it it turn off the other max2play it mixes it up with. Then it works good.

Do you see anything in them why LMS will switch between them? If I start to play it will pay out of both of them. While it’s switching there names in LMS.

They did add max2play works with it on there webpage now. I got a message that he added it to it. Not a click on like but could do a search for „max2play“

Booted the max2play-justboom and it get mixed up with the one I just fixed max2play-hat. In the same way the neo-doc2 did with max2play-hat.

There names all started with max2play. I don’t think that has any thing to do with it because LMS seen them both before I booted the max2play-justboom.

    24. Juli 2021 at 9:36 #51497

Because this was a DD copy of a SD card I did a find for the word like this:

    find -type f -exec grep -IH 'neo-doc2' {} \;

Then I changed neo-doc2 to max2play-hat by hand and rebooted and looks like it fixed it.

Guess it was in a dhcp file. Not sure were that was.

All most sure it was in /var/lib/NetworkManager the dhclent* files.

Now to plug in my other max2play server that is on a raspberry pi and see if it still gets mixed up with one.

    -Raymond Day

    24. Juli 2021 at 0:20 #51496

Stopped the player on my neo-doc2 but on LMS it still showed so I just clicked on to start playing then it showed 2 neo-doc2 but playing on the max2play-hat got this photo of it.

Something is wrong were it don’t see it good. Can see in the video I link to how it auto switch back and forth from both.

I guess there is some setting in the max2play-hat that looks that same as the neo-doc2. They do have the same CPU one is on a doc2 and one the original doc they made for them.

Uploaded it to my Google drive here.

Only 29 secants long but it shows it good how it changes. I hope can fix this.

Got it working I had a free account and then had to sine up for a Spotify Premium account. Had to put my Order ID in and it works now. That’s how have to have Spotify working on Max2play. It says get 2 months for free.

Had to do a apt install flac and rebooted it and now it all works.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/isQxrTbbtXQDkGBdA

Got that screenshot of it working on my Windows 10 working good.

Wow it says „Your next bill is for $9.99 + tax on 4/4/21“ is there a cheaper way and still have it work on LMS?

Going to test this out till the 4/4/21 date. It my be good. Not sure. But hope there is a lower price per month.

I don’t get why it would not work on the new pi4 8GB. I got it working on other none pi computers.

Seems like just have to install the OS and do some commands like this:

    apt install apache2 php libapache2-mod-php php7.0-xml -y
    wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/max2play/webinterface/master/install_max2play.sh
    chmod 777 install_max2play.sh
    ./install_max2play.sh

Then go to it’s http address and set it up the rest of the way there and it should work.

I got it today and it works!

Very good USB to SPDIF. This one works very good now no clicks now!

    I picked this one:

    iec958:CARD=Set,DEV=0 - C-Media USB Headphone Set, USB Audio - IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output

Wow it only cost less then $6 from Amazon. I order it yesterday and I got it today. No clicks now sounds very good. So that fixed it.

    4. November 2020 at 17:16 #50037

I seen I can put more than 500 in the „ALSA Parameter“ I was adding 1024 on it and rebooting till Squeezelite started to run again. I got up to 10240. So in it now is 10240:4:: and it works but still get clicks but not as much and not as long now.

Should get another USB to S/PDIF converter only cost $5.59 at Amazon.

Will see if that fixes it. If not guess will just use the RCA audio plugs.

No I don’t have any other but looking to buy one.

When I did one says to do this „Please choose PCM/LPCM on your TV as audio output format.“ is there a way to set Max2play like that. Maybe that’s it.

    -Raymond Day

    28. Oktober 2020 at 22:48 #49971

I put ‚500:4::‘ but it still clicks. I got a cleaner for SPDIF and I clean it but it did not fix it.

Just don’t know what it wrong with it. It Clicks just how old vinyl record when vinyl record is no clean. I bought it from Amazon but like I said it did not fix it.

It showed a player and no way to pick what to play so I just click the play button and my Amazon echo started to play the last thing I played on it.

Is there a way to get it to play any of the songs on my server with Logitech Media server?

    -Raymond Day

    28. Oktober 2020 at 14:39 #49961

Don’t get how to add max2play to this if you can. Got a Echo Show it says green ONLINE now. I can edit it. List lots of sound things.

    Player

    Media Progress

    Volume

    Treble

    Midrange

    Things like that.

If I click on player it says „Link channel“ Please select a profile: and Please select the item to link. Opens a big window there and just don’t get how to set that up.

I think if you do make a YouTube video showing how to get this to work with Max2play could be good. If it can do that.

    -Raymond Day

    28. Oktober 2020 at 13:36 #49950

Wow what I think. Super hard to set up if you can.

It says „Install the Cloud Connector within OpenHAB PaperUI and use Client UUID and Secret (click ‚DEBUG Info‘ at bottom of this page to reveal) to connect with a myopenhab.org account“

Got the PaperUI and installed the Cloud Connector but don’t see how to get config it anyway.

click ‚DEBUG Info‘ I don’t see any „openHAB UUID“ or „openHAB Secret“ so you can register at myopenhub.org.

Guess you need to make a YouTube video how to set this up.

I thought it would let me say to Alexa play this song with max2play. Maybe it does if could get it set up right. Been trying for hours.

Don’t see any place can log in to your Amazon account.

Did find how to log in to Amazon account. It said something to add on to the URL of the end of the port number so I copied and paste that URL to the end of the port number. Then I could log in to my Amazon account.

The debug at the very top has the login info you need.

Need to make this easier. Have the login and Amazon account show up in the web interface I guess. Something like that.

Now it does see my Amazon devices still have to find out how to use them if I can with this openHAB and max2play.

    Still been working on it.

Been editing the /opt/max2play/alsa_max2play_usb.conf and /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf.d they are the same files.

near the end I changed the „buffer_size“ from 8024 to 11264 and rebooted. If I did it over that seems like the audio would not play.

But I still get pops like in the sound.

Did fix it so only one Squeezelite is running unchecked the „Autostart Squeezelite“ because I got it starting in the custom_autostart.sh file. but I checked and still it has now 4 running.

    /usr/bin/squeezelite -n rayday1
    sudo -u root -H -s squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Device,DEV=0
    /bin/sh -c squeezelite -o hw\:CARD\=Device\,DEV\=0
    squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Device,DEV=0

Then 4. I can kill all but the last one. If I kill the last one the music stops. But it will auto start again. Even with just that running I still get clicks in the music every now and then.

Hard thing to fix this SPDIF Digital Audio. Maybe I should just switch it to the RCA audio plugs but it be nice to get it working good with the SPDIF Digital Audio.

It sounds like old click in a vinyl record with dust on it.

    28. Oktober 2020 at 4:16 #49938

    Been trying to fix this.

I know to start squeezelite I had to put a command in /opt/max2play/custom_autostart.sh else it will not play but it shows it running.

I started it on the command line and it starts to play then. But is this the right way to start it. I all so did a aplay -l to show what I should pick to start it. I am using the USB sound.

    root@rayday1:/opt/max2play# squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Device,DEV=0 > /dev/null 2>&1 &
    [1] 3594
    root@rayday1:/opt/max2play# aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****

      Subdevices: 0/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    root@rayday1:/opt/max2play#

Here is what the custom_autostart.sh file looks like:

    #!/bin/bash
    #Custom Autostart File
    sudo -u root -H -s squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Device,DEV=0 > /dev/null 2>&1 &

If I look what squeezelite is running is shows 3 of them on boot.

    sudo -u squeezelite -o hw\:CARD\=Device\,DEV\=0
    /bin/sh -c squeezelite -o hw\:CARD\Device\,DEV\=0
    squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Device,DEV=0

I can kill the top 2 and it still works. If I put a # before the Custom Auto Start so it don’t start then it shows this running:

    /usr/bin/squeezelite -n rayday1

But it will not play I have to run the:

    squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Device,DEV=0 > /dev/null 2>&1 &

    Then it starts to play.

I can kill the /usr/bin/squeezelite -n rayday1 and it still plays. That is how it starts up if I don’t do the custom_autostart.sh. But then it don’t play.

But I still get little clicks with just one squeezelite running the one I do with the custom_autostart.sh. So maybe I should edit that command some my fix it?

Were does max2play do the /usr/bin/squeezelite -n rayday1 maybe I can edit that so only one will be running the one that works.

Thank you MarioM. I did that in the ALSA Parameter and rebooted.

It seperated it with just the -a in ALSA Parameter and in the Command Line Options put the 160:4::

Took a screenshot of it to show this. Linked it to my Google photos.

But it still get pops when playing music. Maybe not as much. Maybe I can do the 160 number more?

The command line still shows the buffer_size the same 1764:

    root@rayday1:~# cat /proc/asound/card1/pcm0p/sub0/hw_params

Guess I just have to make the „buffer_size: 1764“ bigger. How do I do that?

In the „ALSA Parameter“ I put just „a“ and the „Command Line Options“ „b499“ I thought it would make the buffer big. But I still get Pops in the songs.
