Tried sudo raspi-config to see if switching locale and keyboard makes a difference. It makes no difference. Maybe I’ll try resetting config. The inconvenience isn’t that serious.

No I tried resetting config 2 or 3 times in the past without success. I ended up reinstalling everything.

Thanks for your feedback. Reinstalled everything and after that I noticed the Health Checker on the settings page and also the Cam software was updated to 6.3.3. I had max2play 2.42 running for some days or weeks. Maybe previous updates didn’t update everything correctly.

If kodi starts without jivelite running the black bars are black. If I disable JiveLite autostart, manually start Jivelite and start Kodi from JiveLite the black bars show jivelite. No big deal for the few remaining 4:3 video’s.

Had some time to burn and managed to solve it. Installing RPI cam from SSH also showed problems. apt-get upgrade also showed errors with some uri’s. After I connected both wifi and ethernet the network error was solved and rpicam installed succesfully.

    Why? No idea.

How can I install the rpicam driver from the command prompt? Much easier to spot errors and debug.

    19. Dezember 2016 at 19:25 #25042

Yes fresh install. First action expand filesystem and update max2play. I see all kind of errors in the yellow frame which quickly disappear.
Uninstalling the rpicam drivers, reboot, adding the tar source and installing again makes no difference.

Everytime I start a fresh image I run into old problems like the licencse not activating. Once I set a fixed IP that’s solved. I can’t remember when I installed the rpicam driver (before or after fixed ip)

Consider it solved. Reinstalled everything from scratch.

RPi Camera fails to start now. I have seen this before. The solutions was to reinstall everything from scratch. That won’t work this time. Uninstalling and installing shows some strange no such file or directory messages:

I noticed the folder /home/pi doesn’t exist anymore and /home/pi links to /writable/pi which also doesn’t exist.

I have the SD protection plugin installed. Maybe that’s the cause.

No only the command line and ssh

Yes, a cheap dongle based keyboard does the job. I’ll do that, it could include a touchpad in one device. I forgot about this option in my bluetooth quest.

I still wonder why I can succesfully pair and connect a original Apple keyboard and no others. It appears the difference with a „normal“ BT stack is minimal and maybe, maybe the max2play BT stack could support more BT keyboards… Not important anymore.

I needed to select fixed IP in WIFI/LAN to see internet over LAN.

If I now try to start Jivelite with the start button I get an error:
