Inklusive Spotify. 🙂

Still not working. I switched back rom beta to the recent version 2.58, and tried several version of the Squeezebox Server from here: https://lms-community.github.io/lms-server-repository/ (8.4, 8.5, 9.0). Still the same problem – „Status: Squeezebox Server läuft nicht“ – the server does not run with no specific reason given. The link to further information doesn´t do anything. So I am a bit lost now …

I did actually upgrade Max2Play to the beta version, and installed LMS 8.4 using this version: https://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v8.4.0/logitechmediaserver_8.4.0_arm.deb.
No changes – it does not start. Here is the log:

Many thanks. The file type settings solved the issue. Did set the Ogg Vorbis type to „Native“. I send a stream with 192kBit/s and it works.

I did not find a way to watch the stream rate in LMS – is this hidden somewhere?

Hi MarioM, many thanks for the reply.

In the server log I found entries like these ones, but I am not sure what to do with them:

Regarding the second recommendation (check whether the Squeezebox server converts the stream again) – where can I check this and how can I prevent it? I was checking in the LMS interface „Extended (Erweitert)“ and could not find anything related.

Update: Surprisingly, clicking on „Öffne Squeezebox Server Webadministration“ a bit later again – it works. Cool. Maybe the previous page was just cached.

Hi, I did get the image from here: https://www.max2play.com/getting-started/.
Got the Raspi 3 running again.
    Updated the Raspi 3.
    Installed Squeezeserver Nightly 8.0
Tried to open it – same problem: „Firefox kann keine Verbindung zu dem Server unter 192.168.178.78:9000 aufbauen.“

Yes – it shows available versions of the Logitech Media Server.
The only interesting thing is that the interface of the media server shows an available update: 7.9.2 – 38514, while the Rasp interface offers 7.9.0, 7.9.1 and Nightly 7.9. Installed is version Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 – 1550612824.
But since everything is running ok, I assume there is no need for action.

    13. September 2019 at 16:25 #47080

Surprisingly – it updated today to 2.50. Didn´t change anything.

Seems to be ok. The Raspi is connected to a FritzBox via LAN and appears in the FritzBox interface as ok as well. The Raspi based Squeezebox Server is also capable to receive online streams.

I think I found a solution: The plugin Spotty for Spotify plus a Spotify Premium account. Super easy to install and runs synchronyously on all of my Squeezebox devices (touch and radio).

    2. März 2019 at 11:48 #44605

Hmm – this would be really sad. I love my Squeezeboxes. Out of curioity – would there be any other music streaming service I could make work with the Logitech Media Server? Spotify?

    1. März 2019 at 18:03 #44595

I am running several sqeezebox radios. They do all connect to the LMS on the Raspi. Until recently, Napster did work in this environment. Today the Squeezebox asked me to switch to the squeezebox.com server when I tried to start Napster. Also, in the webinterface of the LMS I see only links to my music collection and to the radio stations, but no plugin´s or „own applications“. Internet is working – the radio streams work nicely on all Squeezebox radios that are connnected.
I did reboot te Raspi as well as the Sqeezebox radio.
Regarding your final question – how would I add the Napster app to my Raspi LMS?
