    Hi Heiner,

    thanks for your advice. Can you please tell me exactly where to enter the comman line options?

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi Heiner,

    thanks for your reply.

    You mean the advanced settings in the Audioplayer tab, right? In fact, both options were active at the same time. So this can’t work at all? However, it also didn’t help to stop one of the two services (and deactivate the autostart entry). Even after restarting the Raspi, the symptoms are still the same. In the meantime I could also check the RCA outputs: No signal here either.

    As I said, I don’t even hear a crack or scratch when I insert the plug into the socket (neither with the jack nor with Cinch). Would that be normal if only the software is not configured correctly? How can I check if the card is working correctly in general?

    Thanks again and best regards

    Hi Heiner,

    unfortunately not, again. I’d already tried this out because of some other cirumstances. With no effect for this specific problem. Meanwhile, I’ve already given up and deleted the image. But if I will give it a try again, I could then try killing a possibly running process of unclutter.

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi Heiner,

    thanks, but unfortunately not, I guess. I don’t want to use VNC, because I connect directly to the Raspi hardware via HDMI. Or did I misunderstand your reference to that link?

    Anyway, I would have expected, that there was used a tool like ‚unclutter‘ for supressing the mouse cursor. Then I could have turned it off easily. But this is obviously not the case. What is it then?

    Thanks and best regards

    Hallo,

    ich habe das oben ausprobiert und es funktioniert auch bei mir prima! Nun wäre es mir aber am liebsten, ich könnte auch die Beenden-Funktion (Quit) noch mit in dieses neu geschaffene Untermenü für Reboot und Neustart verfrachten. Leider bekomme ich das allein durch Kopieren des Codes aus der QuitMeta.lua noch nicht hin. Soll heißen, die Beenden-Schaltfläche kann ich gerade noch erzeugen, aber die AppletManager-Funktion zum Beenden lässt sich anscheinend nicht so einfach übertragen wie gedacht. Könnte mir bitte jemand mit einem Code-Schnipsel auf die Sprünge helfen?

    Danke und viele Grüße

    Ok, here is my report: The display functions excellent. I used the optimized max2play image for the 7″ Touch Display with Jivelite and Kodi preinstalled. I only had to add the following setting lines at the end of the /boot/config.txt (if you want or need to, you can put them directly in the file on sd card before booting the image for the first time):

    max_usb_current=1
    hdmi_group=2
    hdmi_mode=1
    hdmi_mode=87
    hdmi_cvt 1280 800 60 6 0 0 0

    All will work immediately (incl. touch function). Except for the inconvenient small resolution of the Joggler Skin in Jivelite, which only fits half of the display area. But you only have to adjust the settings in /opt/jivelite/jivelite/share/jive/applets/JogglerSkin/JogglerSkinApplet.lua to the following appropriate values:

    800 -> 1280
    480 -> 800
    446 -> 646
    413 -> 613

    Maybe the next version of the touch display image could regard these minimal configuration options and everything will be fine from scratch for this nice display.

    Hi Heiner,

    thanx for your reply. Actually I do not see this option. Probably because I still have no max2play-license at the moment.

    But frankly, I had not assumed that this image, which was announced to come with touchscreen support, would be limited in that surprising way. No question, you do a good job here! And I would be willing to pay a reasonable one-off amount (by the way: this does not justify a subscription model) if I were sure I could use this image for all my special home server and media client purposes in a stable way. But unfortunately I can not test it, because I don’t see my mouse. 🙁 Do you have a hint, how I can make my mouse pointer visible with a terminal command?

    Thank you and best regards

    Hi,

    thanks for your answer. In the way I would try using the 10″ Waveshare display with a raspberry pi 3 – will it be helpful to install the 7″ Touch Display Image on the pi? Or is that image completely unsuitable for any other than the original 7 inch Raspi touch display?

    Thanks and best regards!

    Ok, sorry, solved now.
    I just had forgotten that I already had changed the password. 😉

    Hallo,

    wenn man diesem Artikel Glauben schenken darf, wäre es inzwischen theoretisch wieder möglich. Jedenfalls scheint es mit LibreELEC zu gehen, einer auf Kodi spezialisierten Linux-Distribution für den Raspi, die von OpenElec abstammt. Der Weg führt in Kodi offenbar über das neue „InputStream-Plugin zusammen mit der Widevine-Bibliothek libwidevine aus Chromium OS“. Damit lassen sich die von den VoD-Diensten mit Widewine verdongelten Streams in Linux dekodieren und an Kodi weiterreichen.

    Soweit ich das verstehe, wäre also mehr oder weniger „nur“ erforderlich, dieses libwidevine-Paket in Max2Play nachinstallieren zu können. Gibt es dafür einen Weg, vielleicht über die Konsole? Oder müsste dafür erst ein neues PlugIn erstellt werden? Haltet Ihr das in absehbarer Zeit für möglich?

    Ich muss sagen, Video-Streaming-Dienste (das betrifft ja genauso auch Netflix & Co.) auf einem Multi-Room-Client nutzen zu können, wird auch für mich immer wichtiger. Bei meinem nächsten Squeeze-Player fürs Schlafzimmer, der ein großes Touch-Display mitbringen soll, möchte ich das nicht mehr missen.
