    Hi,

Not sure this is the correct place to post this request but have not seen this addressed anywhere else.

I have successfully set up Max2Play on two RPi3 with Hifiberry AMP 2 hats.

One RPi is called „porchserver“ and the other is called „masterbath“

Both are on the same network using ethernet connections and are wired to speakers directly.

Both have Squeezelite running and „Porchserver“ has Squeezebox Server running.

When using „Squeezebox Server Webadministration“ to open LMS on „porchserver“:

I can get the RP3s to synchronize when playing music from a USB drive on „porchserver“
I can get the RP3s to synchronize when playing music from a share on a Windows PC on the network
I can get the RP3s to synchronize when playing internet radio

I cannot get the RP3s to synchronize when playing music from my Samsung S7 via Bluetooth.

If my S7 is connected to „porchserver“ via BT, I can get sound from „porchserver“ but not „masterbath“

It seems as though the BT connection is not using Squeezebox at all. The LMS window does not give any errors
but does not seem to be controlling the S7 to RPi BT stream at all and seems to freeze up even though music is playing.

When I’m using Squeezer on my S7 I get essentially the same behavior:

I can get the RP3s to synchronize when playing music from a USB drive on „porchserver“
I can get the RP3s to synchronize when playing music from a share on a Windows PC on the network
I can get the RP3s to synchronize when playing internet radio

I cannot get the RP3s to synchronize when playing music from my Samsung S7 via Bluetooth

In fact, when I try to select BT from „Favorites“ on Squeezer, I get the error: „Problem: Can’t open file for: Bluetooth“

I can play music via BT from my S7 to each of the RPi3 individually using „Rocket Player“ software on my S7.

I don’t know if any of details below are helpful or not. I’m running 2.52 on both RPi3.

    LMS is version 7.9.1

    Squeezer is version 2.1.0

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Andy

I have essentially the same question but using a Behringer UFO202 as input to a Pi3. I am trying to use the RCA outputs of a TV to Behringer and then to the Pi via USB. Doing this because I’ve been unable to get the TV to pair to the Pi using a bluetooth send/receive dongle on the TV. Any help is appreciated. Also, using an AMP2 to drive the speakers.

    Thanks,

    Andy Walsh

    Hello Heiner,

I don’t know whether to start another thread here or not. Let me describe my planned system set up and ask if it is possible.

I have 2 Raspi with HiFiberry Amp 2 in both of them connected to my home network via ethernet.

One is configured as a squeezebox server and it works very well. It is named „Porchserver“. I can stream via bluetooth, and control via my laptop or mobile phone.

My other raspi is called „masterbath“. If I set it up as an audioplayer, I can control it from Porchserver, no problem. My primary interest for „masterbath“ is to be able to stream bluetooth sound from the TV in the master bath to „masterbath“.

    My question is:

Can I stream via bluetooth directly to „masterbath“? I can’t see how this is possible with it set up as a squeezelite audio player or as an MPD player. With my mobile phone, I can see „masterbath“ as a bluetooth device, but I cannot connect to it. I don’t think I can get a reliable bluetooth connection from my TV to Porchserver (due to the distance between them), assuming I can figure out how to do a pairing and connection, which was the subject of my previous post in this thread. I can switch the Raspi so that masterbath is the squeezebox server and porchserver becomes a squeezelite player, but then I just have the opposite problem if I want to stream bluetooth to porchserver.

Thanks again for all your previous help.

    Best regards,

    Andy

    New issue / question:

I want to be able to stream bluetooth from a smart TV to my Pi/AMP 2 unit using this adapter:

    https://www.taotronics.com/download/bluetooth-5.0-transmitter-and-receiver-support-3.5mm-and-optical-digital.html

I am able to pair and connect to the adapter from the Pi/AMP 2 when the adapter is in receive mode. When I scan for the adapter using Max2Play when the adapter is in transmit mode (the mode I want to use), Max2Play doesn’t see the adapter.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hello Heiner,

Great progress! I can now stream from my Samsung S7 to the squeezebox server. However, output from the Pi3 goes to HDMI, instead of through the AMP2 to my external speakers. If I play songs on my USB drive on the Pi3, it plays through the external speakers, but the bluetooth output goes to HDMI. My audioplayer advanced settings are:

    ALSA Parameter 80:4::

    Command Line Options -o hw:1 -V Digital -C 5

Sound Card sysdefault – snd_rpi_hifiberry_dacplus,- Default Audio Device, CARD=sndrpihifiberry

The „set audio output on the raspberry Pi“ is set to „Default (use HDMI if plugged)“

I know I’ve seen additional guidance in the forum for correcting this but I am currently unable to find it.

    All help is appreciated.

Update: I found the „Disable built-in audio“ on the Raspberry Pi page. Once I selected that and re-booted, I was able to stream bluetooth to my external speakers! Awesome! I also found that I needed to increase the volume setting on my Squeezer app on my phone to allow my music player app (Rocket Player) to control volume.

    Thanks!

    Thanks very much, Heiner,

I’ll look over the Jessie image and decide whether or not I want to wait for a bluealsa solution.

    Hello Heiner,

Thanks very much for the quick reply. Is the „main Bluetooth thread“ this one: „[UPDATE] Bluetooth Addon BETA“? I am very eager to take advantage of the bluetooth connection; it greatly increases the flexibility of the system.

    Best regards,

    Andy
