Just to round this off I have now tried another HDMI cable and that was the problem. Everything working fine again now.
    Thanks for the tip!

Thanks mkkyah. I have not tried the above yet because after I tried again after a few hours, and before I read your posting, I found that it was working OK, and as far as I can remember I had not changed anything (well apart from closing the vpn connection on my router, but I cannot see that that will impact audio output from my U3! – but who knows?). So a bit of a mystery. Next time it fails, and I suspect it will, I will follow your instructions and see what happens. I will post any findings back here.

I am also having problems with audio output from my U3 following upgrade to Kodi 15.
Nothing complicated in my set up, I am playing audio on my TV via HDMI. I have also tried using the audio jack on my U3 to my analog amp. It makes no difference, the result is the same.

Following a restart of M2P and Kodi I get audio for about 2secs, then it stops. If I leave it running I occasionally get another 2 secs of audio before it stops again. Completely unusable as it is. I have tried various changes to all the audio settings I can find, but nothing makes any difference.

On my previous Kodi implementation quite often playback started without any audio, however there was an audio setting that toggled between 2 options. I found if I changed that I always got the audio. Now I cannot remember what the setting was – something obscure that meant nothing to me, but it did get the audio working OK, every time without fail. That setting, whatever it was, has been removed from Kodi 15.

As my setup is absolutely standard I cannot believe that this problem is not reproducable, or being experienced by others.

    Thanks, task completed

Thanks Roman. I have burnt a new image, updated to Kodi 15.1, everything is now fine.

I would like to say that I remain hugely impressed with the max2play/Odroid U3 combo, fantastic system. Well done to all those involved. I have hit the „Donate“ button again!

OK, back from my travels now and keen to get my max2play/kodi installation working again.
The first thing I did was to Update M2P, that worked fine and I am now on Version 2.28 ODROID-U2/U3.
I then tried to install Kodi 15.1 using the link https://www.max2play.com/download/15362/. That appeared to go ok, it downloaded and installed.

However when I try to start Kodi I get the following:
Trying to launch … NOT successful Click here to show detailed information
    Use Interface eth0 with -m 8a:75:8c:63:98:e8
    Stopping Squeezelite
/sbin/start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 2596: No such process
    Stopping Shairport
sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified
/usr/local/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libGLESv2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can I sort this out easily please, or do I need to download and burn a new image of max2play?

oo-er – That sounds a bit complicated! Just about to go away for 6 weeks so will have a go when I get back.
Will the next version, when released, correct this? i.e. if I just wait until 2.28 is available will that sort everything out, or have I done some damage to my Kodi implementation that will not be corrected by a simple upgrade?

    22. Januar 2016 at 19:44 #18099

Well I have tried, but without success.
    I entered the command
    rm -R /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/mesa-egl/
I assume it did something, but there was no response.
I then tried to run Kodi – nothing. This did not suprise me as my previous attempt to update it resulted in the existing implementation being deleted, and the new one not being installed.

Tried once again to install Kodi with the procedure at the top of the thread. Just the same result:

So my max2play Kodi is still snafu. Have I misunderstood the instructions?

    22. Januar 2016 at 15:53 #18085

Thanks for the options to correct this. Sorry if I am being thick, but I cannot see anything in the GUI to update to the latest Beta version. Where is this option?

Not familiar with SSH, presumably I can just plug monitor and keyboard into my odroid and enter the command direct?

How long before it will work with the next release of max2play i.e. if I do nothing.

How do I sort this out please. I did have an earlier version of Kodi installed, it has been running fine for over a year. However I could not get the latest version of iPlayer working so decided to uopdate to the latest Kodi. Now it seems the old version is deleted and the new version has failed to install.

    Help please!
