    Hi MarioM,

Thanks for your help with this. When I check „re-initialize display“ I get the following error „Restart Desktop-Manager completed (initialized Display)
Trying to launch … NOT successful Click here to show detailed information
    /opt/max2play/dynamic_script.sh: line 4: i: command not found“.

I have clean power supplies to all my audio gear and don’t want to introduce a screen and likely noise. I also like the minimalism of a headless set up but would like to use FLIRC so I don’t need to use my laptop / smartphone just to forward tracks or change volume etc.

    Cheers.

    Hi MarioM,

So when I start Jivelite I get „Trying to launch … NOT successful Click here to show detailed information. JiveLite 0.1.0″ Have tried updating / resetting etc.

I guess I could remove the Pi2AES hat and try the 7“ screen from the RPI 3B+ I was using but assuming this did work, wouldn’t the screen need to stay connected?

    Thanks.

    Hi M2P.

Is it possible to run Jivelite without a screen please? Jivelite and a 7″ screen worked really well with a RPI 3B+ and allowed me to use a FLIRC USB dongle for remote control. I’m now running M2P headless on a RPI 4 but would still like to use the FLIRC dongle. Problem is Jivelite won’t install because a screen isn’t found – any ideas / work arounds for a noob?

    Thanks,

    James

hi mariom, all sorted now thanks i just haven’t had chance to post. i re-partioned the drive to include a partition table so it now mounts properly and is found by lms. this wasn’t an issue on an older version of m2p on a rpi3b+ so presumably the recent changes to the disc mount plugin you mentioned means drives without a partition table no longer mount? anyway I’m also now using the 64 bit kernel which works great on the rpi4 8g ram. cheers

hi mariom, it’s the v253 beta version. it also won’t mount using picoreplayer where i get an error message saying incorrect / no partition table so perhaps an issue with the drive? but it does mount fine using moodeaudio 6.7.1 + LMS. thanks

hi, i have an external 4tb lacie usb drive (ext4 format) which worked great with M2P on a RPI3B+. I’ve recently upgraded to a RPI4 8gb ram and the drive is no longer automatically mounted, i need to mount it manually each time i boot up using ’sudo mount /dev/sda /media/usb‘. the M2P auto mount point option doesn’t help either. any ideas? thanks!

    Hi MarioM,

That’s great I look forward to trying the update once you’ve got an 8GB RAM RPI4 test unit. The other RPIs I have are all 3B+ so no scope for me to set up via an RPI4 with less RAM sadly as described by CraigK/Bencat57.

    Hi Heiner,

I’m a big fan of M2P which I’ve used for several years now on a RPI3B+ / Allo USBridge Sig and it sounds great. I recently upgraded to a RPI4 with 8GB RAM and Pi2AES Shield but I can’t get this image to install for some reason. I get a repeated blinking pattern on the green LED like some kind of error code but nothing else – any ideas? So I’m currently using Moode no problem but would like to swap back to M2P if I can.

    Thanks,

    James

    Hi Heiner,

Update – I now have the Allo working to a point – at least I’m able to play music! I did this by setting up my music folder and DAC through LMS seettings rather than m2p browser. The m2p browser still gives the OP’s message („loadViewHeader…“) for the settings/reboot and filesystem mount tabs. I’m also no longer able to use the following in my browser to switch m2p off (http://192.168.1.128/plugins/max2play_settings/controller/Basic.php?action=shutdown). So the issue appears to be with the m2p browser when connecting over wifi? totally confused so any help still appreciated so that I can get back to full functionality.

    Thanks again,

    James

    Hi Heiner,

I hope you are well and can help with my issue. I’m a relative linux noob but have use m2p for the last few years without problem – great software which I prefer to moode, volumio etc. I’m having major problems since updating the packages and kernel yesterday (everything seemed fine) and then tring to install MPS/Ampache which crashed my allo usbridge signature. I got the same message as the OP above when rebooting and trying to connect to the m2p browser via wifi dongle..

    loadViewHeader(); // search for Controller and View by Name in URL if (! isset($_GET[‚page‘]) || strpos($_GET[‚page‘], ‚plugin‘) === FALSE) { $pagename = preg_replace(‚=[^0-9a-zA-Z\.]=‘, “, isset($_GET[‚page‘]) ? $_GET[‚page‘] : “); if ($pagename == “) { // get Default Plugin for first Page foreach ($service->plugins[‚plugin‘] as $plugin) { if (isset($plugin[‚default‘]) && $plugin[‚default‘] == 1) { include_once (APPLICATION_PATH . $plugin[‚path‘]); break; } } } } else { // get Plugin by Config… check for Images or other Content if(preg_match(‚=\.(png|jpg|gif|pdf)$=‘, $_GET[‚page‘])){ // just Output Content $file = APPLICATION_PATH . ‚/‘ . $_GET[‚page‘]; ob_clean(); $size = getimagesize($file); header(‚Content-Type: ‚.$size[‚mime‘]); header(‚Content-Length: ‚.filesize($file)); readfile($file); exit; }else{ include_once (APPLICATION_PATH . ‚/‘ . $_GET[‚page‘]); } } $service->loadViewFooter(); ob_flush();

Even after trying several fresh m2p image installs on different SD cards (class 10 / U1 which all worked great before) this message persists when trying certain m2p browser tabs (settings/reboot and filesystem mount) so am unable to configure the system. The others tabs seem to work. Connecting to m2p browser via ethernet doesn’t give the above message but max2play still doesn’t respond as normal – I can’t start squeezlite for example..

Trying to launch … NOT successful Click here to show detailed information
[11:19:24.739588] test_open:384 playback open error: No such device
[11:19:24.739789] output_init_common:382 unable to open output device

I’ve also tried re-installing moode audio but this no longer works either. So I’m worried I’ve somehow broken the allo. I did have to throw away the m2p pre-loaded sd card I received from you with the allo usb sig so I’m wondering if this unit keeps corrupting these cards somehow! Any help appreciated!

    Cheers,

    James

    Hi Heiner,

You are right, I don’t need this plug in. I simply used Flirc to map my remote control to the jivelite keyboard shortcuts which if found here -> https://github.com/ralph-irving/tcz-lirc/blob/master/jivekeys.csv

    Hi Heiner,

I’d like to use a Flirc USB dongle for IR remote control of squeezelite / jivelite. I’ve programmed the dongle but not had any success with this plug in. Any help appreciated!

    Thanks.

    hi,

i’ve tried a flirc usb dongle without success, do i need to change the ir codes in the config file? if so what are the new parameters please?

    thanks.
