i’ve bought so much dead end software over the years that i consider myself satisfied, if software works well for 2 years after i’ve paid. i take all claims of a lifetime license with a grain or two of salt. most developers are dreamers not business people. max2play is still working for my use case five years after i bought it. i’m planning to migrate to picoreplayer when the time comes.
16. Oktober 2025 at 15:00 #53331i had a huge problem when i originally set this up. i honestly don’t remember what i did to get m2p to recognize samba. i know i used the show network devices button in m2p and used what came up as a starting point. in the end what worked was this entry in „Filesystem – mount network paths (Samba or NFS).“
Path Mountpoint Type Options
//192.168.1.103/media /mnt/media cifs user=*MYUSERNAM,password=*MYPASSWORD,sec=ntlm,iocharset=utf8,vers=1.016. Oktober 2025 at 14:47 #53330today is the first time i have successfully logged in to the forums in the last month. so i think someone is at least quietly doing some maintenance and keeping the project on standby. it would be helpful if m2p would make some sort of a statement to clarify the status.
16. Januar 2025 at 15:01 #53269i’m a little confused here. the thread title refers to the youtube plugin in lms/squeezebox. some of the comments are referencing youtube in kodi.
i don’t run kodi on my m2p setup. i stream youtube via the YouTube (v0.300) plugin in lms. it’s audio only and i just use it for music streaming. it’s by phillipe. although not officially supported by max2play, i have found phillipe’s lms plugins to be invaluable. i also use his ShairTunes2 (fork) (v1.7.2), Group Players (v0.17.2), Switch Player – Group Player compatible (v0.4)
if you add the repository below to lms, they will appear in your plugins menu on the lms server.

9. Januar 2025 at 16:25 #53266i’m using google translate to follow this thread in german so i just want to make sure i understand the issues with going to lyrion 9.0
i’ve had issues trying to upgrade to the lyrion 9.0 server software. i’m still on max2play 2.59. i was able to load the 9.0 build onto my pi but there was no option to start the server in the max2play interface. in order to use lyrion 9.0. i would need to load a beta build of m2play. is that correct?
i was able to reload lyrion 8.52 so i have a working system again. it sounds like you are still working on incorporating lyrion 9.0 into a stable release of max2play. so for a regular user like me. if i just wait. eventually when it’s officially supported, i will see an option to upgrade max2play and then current verisons will be available directly from the max2play interface. is that correct?
thanks for all your hard work!
