Hi Guys
Im really not sure if anybody is monitoring the site nowadays but here goes, if you could help it would be very much appreciated.I have sat for hours and days to try and get my PC to see the M2P Share so I can transfer my files. I’m stuck good and proper.
My share is
Name:Rip3Server
Path:media/usb
Comment: Max2play
Writeable: Yes
Create Mode: 0777I have tried so many variations,maybe every one is wrong!!…. I have even tried connecting from the PC to M2P to no avail. I’m desperate to get this working. The odd thing is VLC and Samba app on my phone can access the files and play them. Ive also copied a friends working setup and still its not working
I’d really appreciate any help you can give. Thanks14. Juni 2025 at 23:08 #53311Hello Alex,
any success?be more specific.
pc= windows system /mac/linux?
what User you use for login? I hope ´root´. you can´t use any other user unless you make new user in max2play linux system
on /plugins/max2play_settings/controller/Filesystem.php
can you access with other rights then 0777?I think the problem is in user or rights.
what is that friends working setup?
15. Juni 2025 at 17:30 #53312Hi Thanks so much for getting back to me its much appreciated.
It seems the issue has been resolved now but its also a worry as I don’t know how….But mnay thanks for your suggestions
All I did (again) was to map my PC to the M2P. Thing is I’d already done this (several times) and it wouldnt map but a couple of days ago I tried again and it worked, still the Samba would’t work but at least I got a way into my FLAC files on the M2P.
The weird bit is following day I could get into it via Samba but not sure at all what is going on there, but its been ok since.
It’s all very odd but I do very much thank you for your suggestions which I might have to use sometime down the lin,e but many thanks. Alex
16. Oktober 2025 at 15:00 #53331i had a huge problem when i originally set this up. i honestly don’t remember what i did to get m2p to recognize samba. i know i used the show network devices button in m2p and used what came up as a starting point. in the end what worked was this entry in „Filesystem – mount network paths (Samba or NFS).“
Path Mountpoint Type Options
//192.168.1.103/media /mnt/media cifs user=*MYUSERNAM,password=*MYPASSWORD,sec=ntlm,iocharset=utf8,vers=1.0 -
