I have been playing with Volumio this week. It have DRC with Brutefir plugin, resampling and equalizer. I get used to Max2play with great LMS, but Volumio seems to be very good for testing sound with resampling and DRC.

It looks that it should be quite easy to make a manual installation and test it, the problem might be hardware – perhaps Raspberry is not enough to run DRC.
