Playback of lossless/alac files stops after 2-4 seconds. It seems like the player is sensetive to transfer speeds. I experience that alac playback always work from SD, sometimes from LAN and never from wifi. MP3 works from any source.
So question is can the player buffer files to fix this?
Most of my audio files are lossless and 20-200mb in size.
Seems like alac is the problem/issue. After converting music collection to flac there is no more playback interuption.
I hope there is a solution to using ALAC as flac is not supported in iTunes or other apple products.
Hi itjensen,
Same problem was discussed in another topic: https://www.max2play.com/forums/topic/cant-play-alac-2496/
Which Raspberry are you using?
I got the HiFiBerry and a WAV audio played with it real good. I guess that’s about as most data for a song can get and it worked with the HiFiBerry.
