Very odd indeed. When no network is available, the system should automatically go into access point mode and you should have a max2play wifi network available on your devices to connect to. Here’s our guide

If this is not the case, please try burning a fresh image onto the SD card and see if the access point sets itself up then. Here’s how you burn the image
