Max2Play Home › Forums › Max2Play as Squeezebox (Player / Server) › Squeezlite Client: Play a local file(mp3) via CLI/Http/telnet command
Hello,
How can I play a local file(mp3) on a Squeezlite/Max2play-client without the server?
I want to send an CLI/Http or telnet command to this player to do this.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Thorsten
Hi,
I solved the problem by installing mpg123.
Now I’am able to play mp3-files and mp3-streams locally.
The cool thing is: The files will be played even when you play something via Squeezelight/LMS. It works completely independent!
Now you can play announcements during playing over the Sqeezlight/LMS-Music! p.e.: „you have mail!“, „It is time to get up!“ or something from your smart home
Very cool.
