Max2Play Home › Forums › Max2Play as Squeezebox (Player / Server) › Squeezebox server on Pi3 not finding music on external USB pen drive
Tagged: USB mount musicfolder privileges
Max2Play & Squeezebox server running on Pi3. 512gb USB pen drive formatted as exfat (exfat tools installed) and mounted at /media/pi/USB
Pen drive can be navigated from command line.
Within Squeezeboxserver admin, basic settings, the path to music library is set to /media
When I change this and „apply“ the value reverts to /media
A full scan doesn’t find any of the files on the pendrive – I suspect a privileges issue. Have granted 775 to /media/pi and /media/pi/USB to the squeezebox user but still doesn’t work.
Suggestions gratefully received.
Hi lidbanger,
Firstly, you might try assigning the write mode 766 instead for full write and read rights without the execution. Secondly, please try the installation of 7.9 nightly of the Squeezebox Server if you do not have this version. Thirdly, if the problem persist, you might try one of the normal formats like NTFS or ext4.
