Logitech remote isn’t bluetooth based but wifi based. I tried it and it worked it control the Max2Play/LMS device like a breeze

    squeezebox remote

Just wondering how to synchronize music on several Raspberry running one LMS for all or one LMS each ?
    There’s a Synchronize option in LMS WebUI/Select Device/Synchronize but it’s greyed.

    Hi yakelkun

It would be recommended to configure just one LMS in your setup, and then run the Squeezelite audioplayer on each pi, then you can synchronise all the squeezelite players by clinking on synchronise.

    Thanks,
Your reply seems indeed logical, but I’d like to be able to choose between synchronized and not, depending on occasions.

    Hi yakelkun

You can install more than one LMS, but you may face some problems, anyway you can start your setup and we are here to help you out 🙂

    Thank you for your help.

My project : be able to listen to music in x3 rooms at least,

    1) from LMS source with synchronized music in each room.
    2) from LMS source with different music, in each room.
    3) From iPhone/Airplay source with synchronized music in each room.
    4) From iPhone/Airplay source with different music, in each room. (multiple iphones)
    5) From Android/??? source with synchronized music in each room.
    6) From Android/??? source with different music, in each room. (multiple iphones)

    Hardware :
x3 rooms : one RPi + DAC + Speakers in each room (already installed).

    Software :
    Max2Play of course.

    „1)“ & „2)“
So if I understand correctly your point I’ll have to use one centralized LMS on one RPI, preferably Ethernet 1Gbps connected (wifi isn’t as reliable to say the least).
Will this centralized LMS fit my requirement „1)“ & „2)“ ?
-Is an RPi 2 powerfull enough to support a LMS server with a huge library (100k, we are family…) ?
-Is this very same RPi 2 be powerfull enough to send data to the other 2 in realtime ?

„3)“ is working but with a problem as it dosen’t mute LMS music

    „4)“ I don’t know if it’s possible.

„5)“ I’m looking for a software to play from my android phone to the Max2Play device like on an iphone.. any suggestion 8^)

    „6)“ I don’t know if it’s possible.

    Thank you for your answers.

I recieved some info about LMS / Airtune switch, applying the instruction works well thanks.

5 what are the settings as my Android ain’t see the RPi 3 bluetooth embeded… Also a wifi equivalent would be greater as BT means limited distance.

if you installed an app witch dlna-server on your phone you can find it in SqueezeboxServer under „distand(?) music libraries“

    Hi guys,
Regarding 6: You can also use a DLNA app like BubbleUPNP to send different music from different Android phones (or iOS devices) to different Raspberries.

    Hi all,

Can I ask how #3 above was possible and working? ((3) From iPhone/Airplay source with synchronized music in each room.)–how are you able to achieve this from an iPhone? I thought an iOS device could only send to one airplay device at a time? I have been toying around with Airfoil and routing the streams through a PC to achieve the grouping function I want but its proving to be annoying.

    Thank you!

    Hi

I choose one SqueezeboxDevice (e.g. Squeezebox Radio) as Airplayspeaker on my iPhone
Then I synchronize the other devices within the SqueezeboxServer or choose the syncoption at the device (e.g. Squeezebox Boom, Squeezelite etc)

Hmmmm, I can’t seem to get this to work. Possibly because one of my players is Softsqueeze running on Windows? Not sure if that would make a difference

Thanks for the info though I’ll keep tinkering with it…
