Spotify connect no longer requires a premium subscription to use connect.
Can update the spotify-plugin so we can use this?

Hello! I am getting my Max2Play up and running again after being in storage for a couple of years from traveling/move. I’d like to use free Spotify account rather than premium account. Am I able to do this at this time? Thank you and best regards.

please excuse the late reply.

Unfortunately, Librespot still only supports premium accounts, so our hands are tied.
