    Hello all,
I am just wondering if it is possible to remove the password access to the music folders. I can only access my folders via explorer, but have to input ..root/max2play to open these. can this be removed? reason being, other programs such as media monkey cannot access these and have no option to ‘force’ password.

    many thanks

    hermano:

here’s a kludge -> when adding the samba share, in the comment field, follow your comment with the string:
    \nguest ok=yes“. For example: comment\nguest ok=yes.

The adds the guest ok option and should eliminate the password requirement.

many thanks, noop…however, I only use the web based version, and from the ‘filesystem mount page I do not see any ‘comment field’.
    regards

    Hi hermano,

in the Max2Play interface, enter “Filesystem Mount” and scroll down to the Samba Share section. The third field is for the comments noop refers to in his answer.
