    Pathetic linux newbie here.
I’ve been using Max2play for my media server for about 5 years. I have been trying to setup Echo Dot and I’ve hit a road block. I need to reset my password to ssh in to install ngrock but I cant remember it. I found instructions about removing the pi pss but it doesn’t seem to work. Now things are worse. The password protect is on and I cant do anything in max2play browser. Is starting over and reinstalling all the rpi software my only hope? At least the media server still works.

    Hi gresyth,

If you can still access the Pi via SSH (standard user: pi, password: max2play), you can remove the protection manually. To do this, go to /var/www/max2play and delete the .htpasswd file. Also reset the .htaccess file to the status from our Github: https://github.com/max2play/webinterface/tree/master/max2play/public

If you no longer have SSH access, you have no choice but to burn a new image.
