Max2Play Home › Forums › Max2Play as Squeezebox (Player / Server) › Max2Play Squeezebox Server on a separate machine in a docker?
Hi,
If I understand correctly, Squeezebox Server can be run on a Pi along with a client piece. Is it possible to run the Max2Play server piece in a docker on a separate machine? I haven’t seen anything to that extent on the website.
I’ve got a linux home server and want to support multi-room audio with few Pis. However I don’t want to run the server on a Pi for obvious reasons (performance, SD card corruption over time, etc.) and would prefer to externalize the server.
And if this isn’t possible – is it possible to run few Max2Play clients talking for dockerized LMS?
Thanks!
Hi aay,
There are ways to run the Logitech Media Server as a Docker. Take a look around in the slimdevices forum for more information. If the server then runs in the home network, Max2Play as a player instance should function as normal.
