Hello! I’m trying to get admin log on, but I am unsure how to do that, and I would appreciate guidance.

Summary: I am using PiZero W and HiFiBerry DAC+ Zero. I cannot get SpotifyConnect to work.

The system is loading Librespot file. One person found that replacing this file with another version solved the problem. However, I cannot copy that file to the /Opt/SpotifyConnect file from the desktop How do I sign in with admin privileges? I try http/max2play/admin or 192.168.1.1/admin and I go to a max2play screen, but there is not anything on the page.

I try from the max2play desktop and try to log into the root terminal, passwords „raspberry“, „max2play“, and „pi“ are not accepted.

Thank you for your guidance. Best regards.

    Hi Mike,

Please first try reinstalling Spotify Connect and make sure you have our current Stretch Image installed.

The new login for Stretch is „max2play“. Log in with user „pi“ pw „max2play“ and then „su“ and again „max2play“.

Hello! Thank you for your note.

I am new to the program, so please forgive my ignorance. I’ve reimaged and reinstalled Stretch

Where do I enter the username and password?

When I try to login as „root“ on the max2play desktop, I’ve tried „raspberry,“ „max2play,“ „su,“ and „pi. „However, the system does not accept these from the desktop.

When I use the WiFi portal and go to http://max2play/admin or http://192.168.1.188/admin (or whatever the number for my appropriate page), I am directed to a max2play page, but the page is blank except for the headers on the top.

I would appreciate guidance as to where the login information is entered. Thank you and best regards.

    Hi Mike,

Sorry about that. We do not recommend logging into SSH and manually adapting Max2Play.

Please try using the Spotty solution for Spotify until we’ve fixed our Spotify Connect Player for Pi Zero.

Here’s the HowTo on setting it up, it also supports Spotify Connect and multiple accounts.

Thank you for your comment. I apologize for not making my comment clear.

I do not use SSH to log on. I log in directly to the Max2Play desktop using a HDMI projector and a wireless keyboard. From there, I can access http://max2play in order to set up WiFi – the system does not automatically detect my home network.

Several comments have been made in the forums about accessing the system through su/max2play and pi/raspberry, but there is no place for me to input these usernames and passwords with the log-on sequence that I explained above. The desktop does not recognize the passwords in the settings/root menu and http://max2play/admin takes me to a blank page that has max2play headers but nothing else.

Thank you for your help. Best regards.

    Hi Mike,

These commands are for SSH access (console control) but as mentioned we do not recommend this manual editing.

You can use the remote control plugin for SSH access.

For superuser actions and root access, we generally recommend using „sudo su“ for any commands that require root rights.
