I am quite new to the scene and I am struggling to find the right information.
I am renovating an apartment in a couple of months and I am planning ahead the multiroom sounding.
So I have a home server that will be running LMS and 2 Raspberry PIs 3 with Hifiberry AMP2 running MAx2Play and picoreplayer. To control it Im planning to get an Amazon Fire HD 10 soon to be released 8th gen has been released (probably by the end of the year).
I did some research and I came across the speakers below:
Polk Audio 5“ https://amazon.com/dp/B00005UKAM/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?pd_rd_i=B00005T3C8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=1713835751726239774&pf_rd_r=NRQ6XDYG0XE5E70JWHJ3&pd_rd_wg=1eojL&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=WVki0&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=5f9616c3-9392-11e8-8894-7b6c558f7022&th=1
Im planning to install the first pair at the balcony´s ceiling (Glassed Closed) and It is where the majority of the people will be on gatheraround and weekends. The Balcony is about 15m2 or 160ft2
The other pair is going to the ceiling in the living room just a bit bigger than the balcony though. This room have a door that integrates with the balcony so I will need the whole system to sync (Max2Play).
Can you guys give me a hand, please?
1- These speakers have to be squared to have WAF. So are those speakers above any good? If not which one would you recommend?
2- For the sake of simplicity which power supply would best fit my need and deliver enough power for both systems?
3- What kind of cables should I use to power them?
4- Also I need it to be foolproof so if someone crank up the volume I cant have it blown away due voltages or whatever…
Thanks in advance!31. Juli 2018 at 11:57 #36799
Unfortunately, we cannot give you any advice on speakers or voltage. Perhaps some community members have had experience with some similar setups.
For power supply we would generally suggest looking at the impedance of the speakers you are getting and their wattage and then using an online calculator to see what PSU would make the most sense. However, as I mentioned we are not experts in this field and would suggest you get some input from other forums specifically interested in HiFi DIY.
