Hi dear M2P community,
I’m running a Raspberry Pi3 with a IQaudio Amp and Max2Play as media server (/player).
I’ve attached a Western Digital 2TB HDD (WDBU6Y0020BBK-EESN) containing media files (music, films). I’m streaming music via Squeezebox Media Server and films via Plex Media Server. Totally works fine.
Sadly, the HDD is also spinning even if I’m not streaming anything or using the Pi otherwise.
Is there any setting to make the HDD go to sleep if not used and wake back up if needed?
Many thanks and best regards
Muhackl
Hello muhackl,
A sleepmode is on Max2Play integrated. It is known as HD-Idle. Please check, if it works. Start the console of raspian and enter „ps -Al | grep hd-idle“. If it works, it could be the Squeezebox Server, which is searching for new Files. Or some preconfigured settings from your HDD.
