Max2Play Home › Forums › General Questions on Hardware and Max2Play Versions › Hardware Upgrade RPi 3B –> 3B+
Hi all,
Quick questions on Hardware – one of my boxes is a RPi 3B with IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ running the new Stretch image 2.46, running very nicely, thank you.
Q1: Can I replace the 3B board with a 3B+ and re-use my existing, wholly configured Max2Play installation? (i.e. the very same SD card I used with the 3B)
Q2: Can I expect performance improvements from this, particularly with LMS and media library scans? Stretch improved things noticeably, but I read that the 3B+ has 1400mHz processing without overclocking vs. the 1200mHz of the 3B.
Many thanks,
jcu
Hi jcu,
Migration should not be a problem with the stretch image. We cannot vouch for the speed improvements from 3B to 3B+. It should not be as noticeable as the switch to stretch.
