My Partner is very eco friendly and will switch off my max2play device at every opportunity at the power socket. Will switching off the device in this way result in problems with filesystem corruptions on the SD card?
Hi martyb,
We do not recommend doing a hard switch off under any circumstance. The Pi is built to run continously and uses very little power (at most ca. 2 dollars a year).
Corruption of the SD card is a possibility, especially if you have software like the Squeezebox Server installed which might be writing on the card at any moment.
