You can use URL-commands from the Squeezebox Server-Software. We have been working on a voice control plugin and although it does not fully work yet, you can use the info from this plugin to implement URL-commands from the Squeezebox Server. Here is the installation-link: http://shop.max2play.com/media/downloadable/beta/voicecontrol.tar
Once installed, it generates some example commands based on your setup (mac-address, etc.). You can also look into the links below, wherein you can find all necessary commands. The second link is especially helpful and more structured and detailed.3. February 2016 at 20:10 #18375
I really like this idea, I allready tested that sound played form sqeeuzelite and shareport can be mixed, thanks to the ALSA mixer I suppose (I’m a linux newbie). So if there was a another very small sound player running, that could play local sounds (ex. Doorbell1.mp3) that would be a great way to create ‘the doorbell’ effect. OK it will be mixed with the current playing sound, but the doorbell sound is normally always louder :-). Offcourse it would be nice if the audio that is playing paused for the moment.
Is there somebody that has an idea to create this? Or point me in the right direction to code myself a little sound player?
edit : just figured out Multisqueeze does the trick for me :-). One for the usual playing of sound, one for addon sound like a doorbell without changing the playlist from one.

That’s great! We would appreciate it if you could share your setup and steps to realize this system for other users. If you are interested, we would love it if you could write a text for our blog, like other users did to share their projects under Max2Play: https://www.max2play.com/en/category/general-en/page/2/18. You can find all you need to know about the commands for the Squeezebox Server in its own documentation (With IP and port of your SBS http://IP:PORT/html/docs/cli-api.html) and here are some examples: http://tutoriels.domotique-store.fr/content/54/95/fr/api-logitech-squeezebox-server-_-player-http.html
