Hello,

I recently updated my RPi with the 7″display to the newest stretch image. I installed the prebuild Jivelite plugin and the RPI Display plugin. But now the display will not go off anymore is I push the upperleft button in the home screen. In the previous image i had installed when i clicked this button the display went black and if I touched the display again it went back on. I want to have the same functionality back.

What can i do?

Hi Martijn,

You can try recompiling Jivelite from our sources.

Check your settings for screensaver, blank screen should be selected.

Thanks for your answer and sorry I did not replied earlier.

I decided to switch back to the pre-build wheezy image. I tried compiling from the source and I checked the screensaver settings. The screen was turning black but the back light was not going off… I stopped trying because I needed to get the stuf working again. The wheezy image is stable in this.

Hi Guys,

Just installed and updated everything to be compatible with 7 inch display and I have the same problem, screen goes not black after power off….any fix?

On another hand, using the .img with support of touch display, I was usable to launch the squeezbox server even after many installs tries….I finally had to install the basic .img dir raspbian ant then add the plugins for touch diplay to be able to launch squeezebox server…any idea about this problem too?

Hi apo,

What steps did you take and what error messages have you encountered?

Did you install the power off button script in the Jivelite plugin menu?

Have you tried resetting Jivelite entirely there as well?

Neiher Analog- nor Digital-Clock Screen Savers is working in image: m2p_stretch_rpi_251_7zoll.img.
I had only installed Hifiberry and Run-Command extensions, the image should work out-of-the-box as you state on the page.
Nor after updating the screen savers worked.
Nor WiFi-setup is working, after turning off the WPS and (fallback) access-point then the manual setup didnt work. But I SSH’ed it and ran the WiFi-setup in Raspi-config then the WiFi worked.
Nor mounting of an 64 Gb Medion – Drive worked.
Had to reformat (even though it came with exfat-format on) and then had to edit fstab like in https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-exfat/
UPDATE: Solved: had to select Joggler Skin – who would know that that is the „m2p“-skin

I know this is an old problem but i encountered exact the same thing today when i had to do a clean install with the stretch image on a pi 3b+ with the 7 inch dosplay. The display would not turn off when i press the power button in the left upper corner, only the playback stopped. What was missing for me is the setting for the screensaver when the device is off. So I did a reset of jivelite and went to settings-View-screensaver and now i can select what he should do when is turned off – blank screen. I think this was preconfigured in former releases of the display image. This solved my problem and now the display is turning off when i hit the button and is turning on again when touching the screen again.
