You should definitely be able to install the 7.9 nightly version of the Squeezebox Server. Please try burning a fresh image and installing the version 7.9 nightly since it is the only one that is fully supported (we will make this clearer in the future and also make it the default selection to prevent confusion).
Usually, after the installation the LMS takes a few moments to establish itself resulting in the link of the big button not displaying anything. But this should be gone after a reboot.
