Hello, Thanks for a great web based package. I am trying to setup Pi2 Max2play setup with an IQAudio amp for Kodi and Shairport playback.
The Kodi menu works fine with a keyboard and mouse but a lot of MCE remote keys dont work. I have tried 2 remotes and IR receivers.
Could you let me know where the userdata folder is located so I can try and change the keymap. Also is there a separate password for root access.
Cheers!
Hi, I realise this is in the wrong sub group. Could someone help with this.
Also could an admin move this to the Raspberry sub group. Thanks.
Hi wanderwell,
The key bindings for Kodi can be found under /home/pi/.kodi/userdata/keymaps
Hello Heiner, Thanks for your inputs. In my current install I have two sub-folder in /home – /home/pi and /home/kodi. The /pi folder has folder /python-games and the /kodi folder has nothing in it. I wonder what Im missing here. Thanks again.
the kodi folder’s contents are hidden, hence the .kodi name. You need to access in root mode name: root pw: max2play
Hello Heiner, Im still not able to get this working with Kodi. While I can access /home/pi/.kodi/userdata/keymaps there is no keyboard.xml in this location. Based on inputs on the net I created a keyboard.xml and copy pasted various keymap commands – still no luck with certain keys (back, enter)
The remote works fine on a a standalone install of openelec. Could you point me towards the right keyboard.xml to use with an MCE remote. Thanks for your help.
Hello wanderwell,
have you come across this page about Keymap? There are some custom keymaps you could use as templates. Unfortunately, I don’t find more specific information about MCE remotes.
You could also check out existing Kodi skins. Some of them might include keymaps already.

Thanks, I did look at the Kodi Wiki. I will try out some more options. Its odd how the remote works fine with openelec.
I will try alternate skins as well – hadnt thought of that – thanks again.
Hi Wanderwall,

Many thanks
