    Hi,
    I am a happy owner of a Raspi 3B+ with the Allo Boss DAC and Max2Play. Now I want to integrate my TV soundbase Sony HT-XT2 to realize Multiroom. The soundbase it UPNP compatible and has Chromecast built-in, however, I do not want to use the LMS plugin „SqueezeCast“ since it doesn’t do synchronized multiroom.

    My question: Can I connect a Raspi + Hifiberry Digi+ Pro to the (free) toslink port of my soundbase Sony HT-XT2? I am just wondering since the port itself says „TV IN, Optical“. If so, I would buy it at Max2play right away…

    Hi kosmonaut,

    Sounds like a good idea! I don’t see why your soundbase would have a problem processing the digi+ pro’s input. Actually, you will most likely have a better sound experience than with UPnP and next to no latency. 🙂

    Hallo, jetzt auf Deutsch: ich habe letzte Woche auf Ihre Antwort hin bei Ihnen den Hifiberry Digi+ Pro plus Stahlgehäuse gekauft, er funktioniert auch, ABER: Jetzt blockiert der über Toslink angeschlossene Hifiberry Digi+ Pro den TV-Audiokanal (hab den Toslink-TV-Eingang vorher gar nicht genutzt, lief alles über HDMI ARC). D.h. beim Fernsehgucken muss ich jetzt unbedingt wieder das Toslink-Kabel an der Soundbase rausziehen, sonst höre ich nur die Musik vom Digi+ oder gar nichts, wenn die Musik nicht an ist, jedenfalls keinen TV-Ton. Das geht natürlich gar nicht. Haben Sie eine Idee, wie man da Abhilfe schaffen kann. So ist das gute Stück nicht nutzbar…

    Hallo kosmonaut,

    Sie könnten versuchen, mithilfe eines Toslink-Verteilers sowohl den Fernseher als auch den Digi+ Pro per Toslink mit der Soundbar zu verbinden. Bei einigen dieser Toslink-Verteiler lassen sich die Eingänge mit einer IR-Fernbedienung umschalten. So würden Sie das Herausziehen des Kabels umgehen und könnten per Knopfdruck zwischen TV-Ton und dem Digi+ Pro als Quelle wechseln.
