For my homeautomation system I need the possibility to play playlists via command.

Therefore I just open a telnet session @ port 9090 and can use the commands.

    b8:26:eb:c2:81:f0 playlist name ?
    b8%3A26%3Aeb%3Ac2%3A81%3Af0 playlist name KronehitVollgas
    b8:26:eb:c2:81:f0 playlist play KronehitVollgas
    b8%3A26%3Aeb%3Ac2%3A81%3Af0 playlist play KronehitVollgas

When I use the „name“ command I get the playlist I am playing now.
This one is stored under favorites.

when using the „playlist play“ command – I can see on the LMS server that the actual playlist disapears, but the one from the command is not loaded and not played,…

How can I figure out what the problem is?
Is it a path problem (global settings?)
    Or a permission problem?

now I am 100% sure that this is a permission problem!

Can you tell me under which user the LMS is running?

    The command

    b8:26:eb:c2:81:f0 playlist save RauteMusik
    b8%3A26%3Aeb%3Ac2%3A81%3Af0 playlist save RauteMusik writeError%3A1

    gives me a write error!

    Playlist path
    /home/pi/Music

Thats the reason why I never see playlist files in this folder,…
And then I understand that I can not load them,…

    Hello eriche,

Please note that there is no default path for the music files and playlist in LMS, when you start the LMS for the first time, you choose the location for the both.

I don`t get how the su user will change my problem.

My solution was that I gave the default Pi Home Playlist folder following permission

    drwxrwxrwx 19 pi pi 4096 Apr 27 15:05 Music
    so „777“.

But why don`t you fix the problem of this default path and the running LMS is not allowed to write there in your installation?
New users may also run into this problem, if they don`t use a NAS and reconfigure the path,…

    Hi eriche,

We have not had an issues yet with the default path. But we will look into it and try to recreate the error and fix it if necessary.
